A NEW CONSTRUCTION

Here is a new wall hung construction. Using recent boat yard finds in the background and a figure made from beach wood. It is interesting working with sculptural elements on a flat plain. Bringing 3 elements together to make more than the sum of the parts.

SNAPE MALTINGS SUNLIGHT

Went back to take some more photos yesterday as the sun was shining. The figures within the hut were glowing. Receiving lots of attention. Many of the 'next generation' were very involved which is great. It will be staying at Snape for a month.

SNAPE MALTINGS

The Siren installation has now travelled to Snape Maltings. The re location went very smoothly thanks to a good team of helpers.
Really pleased with the way it looks on the lawn in front of the concert hall. It takes on quite a different feeling after its previous home on the beach at Aldeburgh. Rather than completely fitting into the landscape, it sits proudly slightly at odds with its setting. This to me works well as it stands out as a piece, rather than blending in. Having said that, it does seem as though it has always been there and quite at home.
A great honour to be next to the reclining Henry Moore bronze. Thank you Snape Maltings for having the 'hut'. It's somewhere I have always wanted to site a sculpture.

BBC NEWS

Really great to have SIREN on the BBC Look East programme last night. Was fun being interviewed and having the opportunity to communicate my thoughts behind the installation and how it came about. Any air time is fantastic. Thank you to the amazing Devi Singh for arranging and running the creative side of Siren so well. It has been quite a journey. And it's not over yet!! www.sirencalling.org

SIREN INSTALLATION

The SIEN installation is now on the beach at Aldeburgh. It went up well yesterday, with lots of help from strong people. Seems quite at home on the beach. The opening is on Tuesday the 6th, 6.45. when the sculpture within will be revealed.
Next Monday it will travel to Snape Maltings, outside the concert hall.
