GREENWOOD BEECH TREE

Working hard on the new series of Suffolk landscape paintings. This one is in progress and is of a big tree in Greenwood which is local to where I live. It is a great time of year to be in the woodland with light falling through the canopy. This painting is 40x30cm oil on canvas.

DRAWINGS

I have been working on a number of A5 drawings since the lockdown period started. All mixed media. Using recent sculptures a starting point. Form and colour creating a dream like quality which I am exploring.

COLOURED ICARUS

I have now finished the Icarus sculpture. Coloured with earth pigments.

LOCKDOWN DRAWINGS

During the lockdown period I have been working hard in the studio. Both on sculpture but also drawing. Using he sculptures as a starting point for the drawings, which I am doing on old HMSO A5  note paper which I found in a skip a few years ago.
Mainly using ink, but also introducing colour through other drawing media. Icarus and Daedalus is a recurring theme.
