BUSY STUDIO
Very busy in the studio. Lots going on and lots of new pieces of wood to contemplate. Working on groups of figures at the moment. Would be good to have more space.

HOLES
I am currently working on a series of figures using coastal wood that has been eaten by worm. Pieces of ships timbers in oak, reduced to a series of honey comb pieces. Creates a very interesting dimension where the holes become as important to the form as the oak itself.

COLLECTION OF WOOD
Yesterday I had a good morning at the river and along the coast collecting small pieces of wood. I want to build up a collection of small figures to mount together in a collective group. Lots of sorting and drying to be done.
As there have been some very high tides recently and quite wild weather I managed to find some very interesting pieces.
FRAGMENT FIGURES
I have added to the series of fragment figures. All pieces of wood gathered at the river. All one type of wood. The dark wood making a contrast to the plaster bases. I would like to cast a series of these in bronze some time. With bright polished bases and dark patinated figures.

PEOPLE and PLACE
This is a recent sculpture. I wanted to create a sense of the movement of people and community. Relationships and place. Fragments of gathered wood along the coast.
NEW YEAR SCULPTURE
Happy new year. Hope 2019 will be a good one for all.
This is a new sculpture, part of a series of winged figures. Taking flight. Wood gathered from he river Alde and plaster base. Hope to explore this theme further into 2019.
